If You Travel in Austin on February 15
As you prepare for your arrival, know the Austin Marathon takes place on Sunday, February 15, in the downtown area. Due to the race route, several streets in the vicinity of the Hilton will be closed to vehicle traffic. For a detailed view of the impacted streets, please see the map.
Primary impact areas: Red River Street and 6th Street are expected to have closures and heavy congestion. These are primary access points for the downtown area, so please plan your route accordingly.
Closure times: 4:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. (Some roads may reopen earlier as runners pass).
Impact: Expect delays and detours if you are driving to the hotel or using rideshare services (Uber/Lyft) on Sunday.
Our recommendation: Please plan to arrive after 2:30 p.m. If you must arrive earlier, please allow at least 30–60 minutes of extra travel time to navigate detours and plan to access the Hilton via I-35 and Cesar Chavez/2nd Street.
You will receive a certificate of participation within six weeks after the event concludes.
Please check with your district office for CEU availability. For more information, click here.
